Without a doubt, the ASG M40A3 Sportline has got everyone talking right now, being both an incredibly useful and aesthetically pleasing sniper rifle from a very trusted brand in the Airsoft industry.  If you’ve been wondering what our thoughts are on it, you’ve come to the right place.  We got to play around with it for a while and are happy to report everything that we’ve come to love about this beautiful rifle model.

The Exterior

The ASG M40A3 Sportline has got a pretty stunning exterior, and a lot of people talk about this more than they normally do with rifles.  The first thing that you’ll notice is the heaviness, which shouldn’t really weigh you down and interfere with your game, but instead gives a serious feeling of realism while also demonstrating its robust sturdiness that adds to its durability.  The finish is equally impressive and makes you feel proud to own it.

The ergonomics of the gun are very satisfactory, and you really don’t get any wobble, which is a nice change.  It’s easy to play around with the hop up, as it’s refreshingly accessible.

There’s a picatinny top rail that we didn’t get to take advantage of, but it’s generously sized and so you’ll be able to add various accessories as you so choose.

The Internals

The internals are quite well done in this model, and you’ll notice that the piston and spring feel nice and snappy and reliable.  I can’t speak for the quality of materials since they don’t match those of the externals, but they seem to do the job well and were consistent throughout playing around.

The gun only works semiautomatically, which is pretty normal for this type of model.  You’ll enjoy a 440-460 fps and note that this may limit where you can use it.  Many fields don’t allow velocities above 350, so you’ll have to plan ahead if you wish to bring this to a game by choosing a field that can work with what you have.

The Grip and Trigger

The grip feels nice and secure, so we don’t see slippage being a major issue here.  Ergonomically, it’s a got a very nice design that feels comfortable, but we didn’t play with this model for so long that our hands might have cramped up.  The distance between the grip and trigger is ideal.

The trigger itself is nice and responsive, and we noticed that its response is consistent, which is always a good thing.  It feels sturdy as well, which is important if you wish to take this guy out many times.

The Magazine

The rifle comes with a 27rd magazine.

The Performance

Now, we can get into the performance.  We can say that the accuracy is pretty phenomenal.  We went up to 200 feet and found that hitting our target was easy.  We tried to stretch it out a little further with similar results, but due to our environment were a bit limited with how far we could go.

The velocity is definitely impressive.  We got up to about 400 fps easily and felt that the gun was nice and stable throughout.  The spring bolt action added to the feel of realism, which is what you want obviously.

Ultimately, the ASG M40A3 is a Good Sniper Rifle that Does What You Want It To

It’s recommended, especially for the look and feel which adds to the realistic nature of it.  It’s got a good velocity and you’ll find that it’s nice and accurate, which is most of what you’re going to ask for from this type of model.
